Acid Gas Scrubber column Installation

Installation of a one-of-a-kind 91 000kg Acid Gas Scrubber column at our Secunda Operations. More than 60m long, the AK column as it is also called, was manufactured by Kelvion Thermal Solutions, a Germiston-based producer of pressure vessels and heat exchangers, to replace the existing column, which has reached the end of its lifespan.

The new replacement column will be used to safely remove specific gases from the ammonia-rich stream at Sasol Synfuels’ Phenosolvan plant in Secunda.
